FAQ

Good questions.

Do I need my vet's permission?

For any injury or condition, yes: by law your vet needs to have examined your animal and agreed to physiotherapy before I treat. For maintenance sessions on a healthy animal, consent isn't required, but your animal must be registered with a vet. When you book online you can upload your vet's consent, or ask me to contact them for you.

How often should my animal have physio?

It depends on the individual: their age, workload and history. After the first assessment I'll recommend an interval, often every six to eight weeks for maintenance, and more frequently during rehab.

What happens in a session?

I review your vet's notes and your animal's history, assess posture, movement and muscle tone, then treat using hands-on techniques and laser where appropriate. Before I leave I'll show you some simple exercises to keep progress going. Most sessions take about an hour.

Will my insurance cover it?

Many pet and horse insurers cover physiotherapy with an NAVP-registered physio when your vet has referred you. Check your policy, and I'm happy to provide invoices and notes for your claim.

Is Class 4 laser safe?

Yes, when used properly. Everyone wears safety goggles, it isn't used over the eyes, growths or a pregnant womb, and most animals find it relaxing. I always check your vet's notes first.

Where is the clinic?

In Pillerton Hersey, south Warwickshire, between Kineton and Shipston-on-Stour. You'll get the full address and parking details when you book.

What if I need to cancel?

Life with animals is unpredictable. Please give as much notice as you can so the slot can go to someone on the cancellation list. You can change your booking from the link in your confirmation email.

How do I pay?

Card or bank transfer. You'll get an invoice after each appointment, with any travel shown separately.
